MSOHD is pleased to have been part of the launch event for the Asia Intensive Reader of Pneumoconiosis (AIR Pneumo), which was held at The Curve, Damansara on February 17th, 2024. YBhg. Dato' Dr. Mohd Azman bin Yaacob, Director of the Medical Development Division, officiated the Opening Ceremony of AIR Pneumo, adding his esteemed presence to the occasion.
The establishment of AIR Pneumo aims to enhance the expertise of professionals in Malaysia concerning the utilization of the ILO International Classification of Radiographs of Pneumoconioses for the Elimination of Silicosis (GPES).
Pneumoconiosis is a lung disease resulting from the inhalation of certain dust particles, such as those from asbestosis and silicosis. While the primary cause of pneumoconiosis is occupational exposure, environmental exposures are rarely associated with the condition.
